The Ministry of Environment (MoE): A man who shot and killed a hornbill posted on Facebook has come forward to apologize to the public and has signed a ceasefire agreement with the Ministry of Environment on the afternoon of May 13. 2020.

Mr. Kruy Chamroeun, who confessed to shooting a large hornbill during his tour to Anlong 9th waterfall resort in Bokor National Park in Kampot province. He wrote in his letter of apology to the public that “ he recognized the fact which the hornbill was killed in a nine-story waterfall in Techo Development Village, Chhuk district, Kampot province. "I promise to return the archery weapon
to Ministry of Environment” he said.
 
Ministry of Environment has called on people who visit natural resorts not to be involved in wildlife crime and not to eat wild meat and join protect wildlife conservation for eco-tourism and biodiversity and ecology in Cambodia.
